Homeless Person’s Week August 2009

The sun shone on the Homeless Person’s parade as St Patrick’s Community Support centre highlighted Homeless Person’s Week this year by participating in the Forrest Place opening on August 3rd 2009.  We held an information stall which was well visited and the Starlight Choir performed at the event.
The highlight was no doubt seeing the regular lunch crowd stop as they were walking through to listen to the warm and heartfelt voices of the Starlight Choir.  It was such a clear way to share a moment and cross the path to witness the achievement of people who sometime struggle with the harshness of life.
Then later in the week local politicians in the South Metropolitan Region at both State and Federal levels and their staff were shown through the St Patrick’s Community Support centre in Fremantle. They were taken on a tour of the centre and given morning tea whilst the Starlight Choir practised in the background. Some of the politicians couldn’t help but join in and perform with the choir.

We hope that this visit highlighted the great work done at the centre and that they will continue to support further and increased funding to our organisation.
